The company's fleet of motorbike-and-sidecars consists of 25 classic Changjiang CJ750s manufactured for the Chinese Red army between the mid-1950s and the mid-1970s. Tim Clarke worked in the People's Republic for a number of years and this bike-and-sidecar was his daily transport. When he returned to SA he saw a gap in the market and Cape Sidecar Adventures was born. The company offers chauffeured tours for groups of up to 50 passengers, or you can hire the bikes to self-drive. You have to have a valid big-bike driver’s license (RSA or International) and be over 21 years old though. It sounds like a fantastic way to explore the Cape. Now I just need to find someone who likes day-trip exploring and has a big bike license… Visit www.sidecars.co.za. |
