Mango has proven to be one of the most nimble of South Africa's low-cost carriers... always ready to jump at an opportunity.

Case in point was September this year when skyrocketing fuel prices made people second-guess driving to the airport, let alone taking a flight. Mango's solution? Hand out free petrol vouchers to passengers. Clever.

They've chosen to ignore the traditional loyalty programs which can be expensive to run and are often seen to have few benefits for passengers (although I must say that I am happy with my kulula credit card cash-back).

Anyway, with the summer holidays in their sights Mango has announced its second burst of Guest benefits, with a holiday season partnership with Nu Metro cinemas that will entitle passengers to purchase two movie tickets for the price of one until 31 December. People love free stuff, and if their fare is the same as a competing airline then quick-win benefits like this are sure to bring in the punters. Nice one Mango.
