 Constantia Cheesery Jane Selander doesn't make cheese on her Constantia small-holding, but she does mature and sell fine cheeses from producers across the country. At last count there were over 20 hand-crafted cheeses on offer, including a large range of sheep and goat's milk products. Fairview Cow's milk got your goat? Fairview is the place to head for, where their huge range of delicious goat's milk cheese brings tasters from far and wide. Pair your cheese with a bottle of the estate's Goats Do Roam wine and hit the winelands for a picnic. Don't forget to visit the famous Goat Tower on the way out. The Real Cheese Shop Bigger and better since its move to Observatory, you'll find dozens of cheeses from cows across the land at this Cape Town institution. They also sell gift vouchers and will arrange private tastings on request. 217 Lower Main Road Observatory. 021 448 8041.
Foxenburg Tucked away behind Wellington, you'd best call for directions before dropping in at Foxenburg. There's no tasting room as such, but Aubrey the cheese-maker will happily give food fundis a tasting (by appointment only) of their outstanding goat's milk cheeses. Cotage Fromage This restaurant/deli on the Vrede & Lust wine estate offers cheese, cheese and more cheese sourced from across the country.
